Church fundraising

THE Much Cowarne church bells restoration appeal has had a valuable boost, thanks to two successful fundraising events. A quilt exhibition in St Mary's Church and steam train rides and Easter egg hunt in Capon Bridge raised £2,500 to swell the coffers. A fun horse ride through Much Cowarne Parish in April also raised £900, to be split between the bells appeal and Burley Gate Village Hall.  more...

A MAN was arrested in Bromyard at around 7.20pm on Monday, after a disturbance at the Hop Pole pub. The man allegedly smashed four windows at the premises after being ejected. Hop-picking exhibition

BROMYARD'S hop-picking days will be brought to life in the latest exhibition by the Bromyard and District Local History Society. A Pocketful of Hops is launched at 1pm, on Saturday, June 9, at the Local History Centre, Sherford Street, Bromyard. Informative displays and stalls selling cakes, plants and produce will be on offer to visitors, along with tea and scones. Admission is free and anyone is welcome to drop in.  more...
