Bromyard

Choral Society

THE Bromyard and District Choral society continues its 50th anniversary year with a concert at the Bromyard Centre entitled A Few of Our Favourite Sings. The performance, at 7.30pm on Saturday, December 1, will feature pieces society members enjoyed singing the most. Water company

RECORD-breaking summer weather had an upside for a Bromyard water consultancy company, who registered a river flowing almost 30 times faster than its usual speed. Hydro-Logic Ltd, in Church Street, held a course for delegates from the Environment Agency at Knightsford Bridge that involved gauging the speed of water in the River Teme. The flow, measured in cubic metres per second (cumecs), was the largest since the Environment Agency began recording data at the location in 1970. The actual flow rate was 220 cumecs, as opposed to June 2006's average of 7.41 cumecs.  more...
