PRESTEIGNE won the toss and asked the home side to bat first in cloudy and windy conditions on Saturday.
BOSBURY v PRESTEIGNE
Presteigne opening bowlers Duncan and Gibbbons both found swing with the new ball, but Bosbury openers Carless and Wadley batted steadily, putting 48 runs on the board before Wadley was out caught off Gibbons for 22.
Carless followed a few overs later bowled by Gibbons for 21. Luke Ledbury joined Dave Taylor and the pair took the score to 97 before Ledbury was bowled by Rhodes for 13. Dave Daffin was run out soon after, then Darren Cooke joined Taylor and they had added 65 when Cooke was out caught for 27.
Taylor was in great form and reached a deserved century. His 122 contained 18 fours and 2 sixes. He was well supported at the end of the innings by Steve Davies (11) and Jon Owen (12) as Bosbury ended up at 266-6 after 45 overs.
Presteigne began their innings well, and were up with the required rate when in the seventh over they lost the big hitting N Barty for 29, bowled by Steve Davies. S Duncan joined N Charlton and the pair had taken the score to 71 in the 12th over when Duncan was bowled by Jon Owen for 14.
Owen bowled Jones shortly after for four, but it was the change of bowling that brought about the wicket of opener Charlton, bowled by Darren Cooke for 47, with the score now 96-4.
Presteigne were still pushing to keep up the run rate, and D Gibbons and G Rhodes put on a partnership of 44 before another change of bowling brought about the fall of two wickets, as Gibbons was bowled by Alan Lancett for 19, then he had Rhodes lbw for 17.
Kettle continued the run chase with six fours and one six in his innings of 36, before he was bowled by Cooke. Steve Davies then returned to the attack and mopped up the tail, bowling the last three batsmen and finishing with final figures of 4-37, as Presteigne were all out for 191.
