A LEDBURY woman has been killed in a tragic road collision, just months after the death of her 100-year-old mother.
Grace (Joan) Robinson of New Street died last Friday when her car and another were in collision near Rhea Lane at 4.30pm.
One of her proudest moments was seeing her mother, Irene Haig, rewarded for her selfless voluntary work at the Good Neighbour Awards in June 2002.
Mrs Robinson was at her mother's side when she received a bouquet of flowers from Hereford MP Paul Keetch.
In January this year, mother and daughter were in the news again as part of five generations of women belonging to one proud family - Mrs Haig died shortly afterwards.
Seventy-eight year-old Mrs Robinson was driving from Hereford towards Ledbury on the A438 when the collision occurred.
Her woman passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the other driver also went to hospital with chest injuries.
All three emergency services were called and the road was closed for four hours while investigations were carried out.
The coroner opened and adjourned an inquest into Mrs Robinson's death on Tuesday.
