A MOVIE shot in Herefordshire more than three years ago could finally see the light of day in the UK - but only on DVD.
Unconditional Love, which was filmed on location in the black and white villages of Weobley and Pembridge back in March 2000, saw some of Hollywood's biggest names travel to the county.
Stars
The likes of Kathy Bates, Julie Andrews, Stephanie Beacham and Richard Briers were joined by hundreds of county people as extras.
But to everyone's dismay the film has never appeared on cinema screens in the UK or the US.
Determined to get to the bottom of the movie's disappearance, two Herefordshire film-lovers endeavoured to get to the bottom of the mystery. And it seems they have succeeded.
Keith Miller, who starred as an extra in the film during a scene shot in Weobley church, and Jannis Hilton-Lee, contacted sources in the industry including the actress Lynn Regdrave.
She told them: "It's been very frustrating but the person at the studio who championed the movie went to a different studio and, as so often happens, the new regime essentially buried anything connected to the old regime.
"The movie was just shown here in the US on a cable channel called STARZ."
Further investigation revealed, however, that the movie will never see the light of day in Britain but is currently available on DVD in the US.
The pair have now taken it upon themselves to order copies of the DVD and are making them available to Herefordshire people desperate to see the final version of the movie.
They are available from the end of October by contacting Keith or Jannis on 01584 890534 or by e-mailing jh1750@ btopenworld.com
