I AM disappointed Hereford-shire Council is making decisions about Ledbury Road nursery site (Unity Gardens) before objections to the Unitary Development Plan (UDP) have been considered.
I understood comments on the draft UDP were genuinely sought by the council and they would be considered carefully and fairly. A lot of people wrote to object to this land becoming residential.
I am concerned the council does not understand the nature or the importance of small community projects such as Unity Gardens, and that their commitment to the project is not heartfelt.
Thousands of hours of local volunteer effort have gone into creating Unity Gardens and it is a resounding success.
Anyone who has seen it would find the suggestion it could just be moved across town ridiculous. It seems the proposal discussed at council has not been thought through and not all aspects have been properly considered.
A DOWNING,
Cotterell Street, Whitecross.
