Wendy Craig and Tony Britton star in a new production of W Somerset Maugham's The Circle which will open at Malvern theatres on August 27, before going on to visit a further five theatres.
Recently voted one of the top 100 Plays of the 20th century in the National theatre's NT2000 season, The Circle is widely regarded to be Maugham's theatrical masterpiece. This production was originally staged by Oxford Stage Company and Salisbury Playhouse in October 2000 and has been revived for a UK tour with Wendy Craig as Lady Kitty and Tony Britton as Lord Porteous.
Capturing the poise of high society in the 1920s, The Circle is an elegant comedy of manners, exposing the emotional double standards of a family prominent in the public eye.
