A NORTH Herefordshire town has expressed concern over its role as the `poor relation' in plans for the development of the county over the next ten years.
Bromyard councillors voiced opposition to Herefordshire's unitary development plan at a meeting of Bromyard town council on Monday night.
Concerns were expressed over the provision of new houses, the support for the infrastructure and retail outlets in the town and that industrial development would be restricted by a lack of labour and access.
Chair of the council Joan Dauncey said: "The unitary development plan for Bromyard is not good enough. Once again we are being treated as the poor relations.
"These plans are for 10 years. It is the future of our town that is at stake."
In response to the level of opposition to the plan, the council will be holding a series of four extraordinary meetings to discuss the issues.
