Clock hands stilled

The four-faced clock of the Elizabeth Barrett Browning Institute could be working again within a week. The clock in the library tower has had problems keeping the hours for several weeks. Town and county councillor Peter Harling, a trustee of the Elizabeth Barrett Browning Institute Trust which looks after the building, said the problem appeared to lie with a "motor". This has been taken away for repairs. Mr Harling said that the missing machinery should be back within a week.   more...

Colourful invitation

Kempley Daffodil Weekend will take place on Saturday and Sunday, March 17 and 18. It will be centred on the village hall and St Edward's Church and will include guided walks to the daffodils of four miles and two miles, starting from the Hall.
